The Solwezi Focus Group was formed on 27 August 2013 during the CSO sensitization meeting at Mwaaka Lodge. At its inception the group had 20 members drawn from various organizations such as Solwezi General Hospital, the Council of Elders, Diocese of Solwezi, Moment of Hope Counseling Foundation, Devine Immunity, Solwezi FCC, Society for Family Health, Treatment Advocacy Literacy Campaign and NZP+ Solwezi.
The group has been involved in a number of MeTA Zambia activities including a radio programme on 28 October 2013, training in coalition building on 27 and 29 October 2014, focus group monthly coalition meetings from January 2015 and an information sharing meeting on 6 March 2015 at Mika Lodge in Lusaka.
