Issues of governance, transparency and leadership at MeTA are cardinal.On the 14th of March 2018, Dr. Tim Reed, Executive Director
and Rhon Reynolds, Advocacy Manager at Health Action International were in Zambia and had a succesful meeting with the MeTA Council at
the new MeTA Secretariat at Pharmacy House in Salama Park. Some of the issues addressed were gender balance and involvement of youth in the
council as well as the Communications and Advocacy strategy. Later in the afternoon the team from Netherlands accompanied by MeTA Zambia
secretariat visited Director of Public Health at the Ministry of Health, Dr. Andrew Silumesi. Discussed at this meeting was the work
that MeTA is doing and strengthening of working relationship with the Ministry. Dr. Silumesi was further briefed on the Snakebite initiative
which is being launched in Zambia, Uganda, Kenya and Tanzania.
